A detailed timeline shows when storms could become severe in Houston before a sharp cold front ushers in much colder air Friday.

A cloud boundary over the Metroplex is pushing storms east this evening, with a cold front and nearby low pulling in drier air and a few stronger cells still moving through.

The switch to winter weather will be accompanied by some accumulating snow in parts of the Texas Panhandle.
