(WILX) - Just after the fifth hour bell Friday afternoon, students at East Lansing High School walked out of class to show their opposition to actions by federal immigration officers. Students walked out together in organized protest just two days after a federal immigration officer fatally shot Minneapolis woman Rene Good.
Hundreds of East Lansing High School students walked out of class this afternoon to protest the actions of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE). The walkout was led by Students for Political Action, a student club at the high school. The demonstration came days after Renee Good was killed by an ICE agent in Minneapolis.
